On 16th September, my sisters, my brother’s wife Pamela and I will be taking on the challenge of walking up Tinto Hill to raise funds for St Andrew’s Dementia Hub.

This is a cause that is very close to our hearts. When my brother was living with dementia, the Dementia Hub was an invaluable source of support for him and for Pamela as his wife and carer. They provide a safe, welcoming place for people living with dementia and their families, offering friendship, support, activities and, perhaps most importantly, understanding at a time when life can feel incredibly difficult and overwhelming. The support they give doesn’t just help the person with dementia — it can make an enormous difference to the family members caring for them too, helping them feel less alone and giving them somewhere to turn.

We have seen first-hand just how important and special this support is, which is why we would love to raise as much as we can to help the Dementia Hub continue the wonderful work they do for families in our community.
