Brushstrokes of Hope: Mindful Art for Refuge

Sangeetha Menon is raising money for Refuge

Team: Sangeetha Menon | Mrs. Universe Great Britain 2026 Supporting Refuge

Saga’s MindfulArt Charity Workshop · 8 August 2026

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

Paint with Purpose. Create Hope.

I am incredibly excited to be partnering with my fellow Mrs Universe Queen, Suchitra Vijapurapu (Mrs Universe United Kingdom), and the wonderfully talented local artist Saga, founder of Saga’s Artverse, to host two Mindful Art Workshops in support of Refuge, the UK’s largest specialist charity supporting women and children experiencing domestic abuse.

Together, we believe that creativity has the power to heal, connect people, and inspire positive change. These workshops are designed to bring our community together for a relaxing and uplifting experience while raising vital funds and awareness for an important cause.

Whether you are a complete beginner or simply looking for a mindful afternoon, you will enjoy step-by-step guided painting, meet like-minded people, and leave with your own artwork—all while helping women and children rebuild their lives free from abuse.

Every ticket purchased and every donation made through this page will directly support Refuge’s life-changing work.

A huge thank you to Saga’s Artverse for bringing this beautiful initiative to life, and to Suchitra Vijapurapu, Mrs Universe United Kingdom, for supporting this meaningful collaboration.

Together, we are proving that art can do more than create beautiful paintings—it can create hope.

Thank you for supporting us and helping make a difference, one brushstroke at a time. 🎨❤️
