Story

I'm taking part in a relay run from Land’s End to John O'Groats to raise money for the Down’s Syndrome Association and Down’s Syndrome Scotland. The event is called RunAcross and will begin on International Down’s Syndrome Day (21st March 2024) and take 14 days to complete.

My little niece Nancy inspired her big sister Iris to organise this event in aid of two wonderful charities. Iris felt that viewing the world through Nancy’s eyes has been one of the most beautiful parts of her life, teaching her patience, kindness and unconditional love.

This event brings together a variety of different people who share Iris's vision of creating a world where people like her sister aren't just able to achieve their goals but are actively encouraged to do so. She wants to spark a new conversation and show the world the capabilities of people with Down’s Syndrome. Her two chosen charities share her vision of creating a more inclusive and empowering society so all the money raised will be split between the two.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our page.
