Last year Jonathan and I were fortunate enough to be part of a team of volunteers taking around 50 Scouts and Explorer scouts from Doddington, Whittlesey and March scout groups on a fantastic week away in Belgium.

We enjoyed it so much that next year we are taking them to Holland!

Scouting offers so much to both young people and the volunteers. Being able to offer overseas trips full of unforgettable experiences is pretty awesome!

Aron (our own Explorer Scout and also a young leader at 1st Doddington) first encountered Hadrian’s Wall when we went to visit a fort as a stop off on the way to Scotland. Gazing along the wall he asked if it would be possible to walk all the way along it… fast forward a few years and he has fully embraced the idea of walking coast to coast along Hadrian’s wall in a week (15th-21st July 2025) to fundraise for our next international trip (with Mum & Dad in tow) to ensure it is as accessible as possible and can include as many brilliant experiences as we can possibly muster for our young people.
