The Crudwell 24 Hour bike ride is a community fundraising event where teams of all ages and ability compete to raise the most sponsorship and see which team can complete the most laps in 24hrs.

Story

Soooo everyone knows I love riding my bike, but in an effort to raise funds for the Charlie Waller Trust, I think I'm about to find to find a few limits...!

The charity was set up in 1997, after the tragic suicide of 28 year old Charlie Waller. The charity aim to improve young people’s understanding of mental health and wellbeing and to equip them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to look out for themselves, their friends and those around them. They do this by providing easily available support, workshops and resources directly to individuals as well as the adults that support them.

After receiving some bespoke training from the Trust recently, I started to look for an event that would make me go the extra mile, so to speak, to raise funds and and give back. Given how much I love a 10 o' clock curfew, few will come tougher than a race through the night!

Crudwell 'Le Mans' 24 Hour bike ride is a community fundraising event where teams or individuals of all ages and ability compete to raise the most sponsorship. It is also fun to see which team can complete the most laps in 24hrs (said the organisers).

Sounds fun right?

Well, today you can sponsor this ridiculous decision. 20% of all donations go to the registered charity that supports Crudwell Village Hall, its activities and surroundings. Everything else donated to this page will go directly to the Trust so they can keep doing the amazing work that they do, supporting mental health and suicide prevention in young people all across the country.

This event is going to be by far the biggest challenge I have ever encountered and your sponsorship could mean the world to young people across the country working through their own challenges of mental health and depression.

My target of £750 just about covers one day of training for a group of professionals to begin supporting a young person in crisis. Feeling Brave? Why not sponsor per mile - I have absolutely no idea how much that will cost you but what an incentive for each pedal stroke as the going gets tough!

Not in a position to donate right now? Please read and share, and clock below to find out more about the Charlie Waller Trust and what they could do to help someone you care about.

Oh, and wish me luck!!!
