Story
On the 4th February 2021 my son Riley who was five at the time, was diagnosed with ALL leukaemia. Once he was diagnosed he was quickly transferred to Birmingham to start his treatment plan and was there for nearly a month. During this time we was introduced to a charity called Molly Olly’s wishes. Riley was given an Olly the brave bear which came with books to help him understand what was happening to him along his treatment journey. The bear hasn’t left his side since he takes it to every hospital visit with him and it sleeps with him every night. When Riley loses his hair throughout treatment the bears mane can come off so they can be bald together and when his hair comes back he has fun wigs to put back on the bear to celebrate. 6 months into his the treatment Molly Ollys granted Riley’s wish of a iPad. He was so happy when it arrived with a case even more so when he realised that he had been gifted one with the most space on so he could have whatever apps he wanted. This has also helped with keeping him busy and distracted during hospital stays and he would be lost without it. Molly ollys also reached out to me personally to let me know they were there for me if I ever needed to talk to someone that understood what I’m going through as a parent, Which was so heartwarming.
Due to their support for my poorly boy during his journey, my friend and i are doing the three peak challenge in three days on the 1st June 2023 to raise money for this awesome charity. In the hope that we can support them to help more poorly children liked they have help my Riley.
