Story
I’ve struggled with my mental health from a young age and it’s something very close to my heart. There were times when I truly believed things would never get better and that I would be unwell forever. It was incredibly debilitating. But eventually, I found a light at the end of the tunnel and that changed everything for me.
Recently, I’ve started taking running more seriously, not just as exercise, but as a real part of my journey to improve my mental wellbeing. Running has helped me in ways I didn’t expect, giving me clarity, strength and a sense of purpose. I’ve never even run a 10K before, so signing up for my first half marathon is a big step. It’ll definitely be a challenge, both physically and mentally, but I’m up for it and more motivated than ever to push through.
Now, I want to help others find that same light.
Mental health is so important because it affects everyone, yet it’s still not talked about enough. No one should have to suffer in silence. It’s time to break the stigma and create open conversations where support is available to all.
I believe everyone deserves support, compassion and the chance to heal. That’s why I’m looking forward to running and raising funds for The Mental Health Foundation, a charity that works every day to make mental health a priority for everyone.
