Story
Angelos Theophanous, son of Mirna and Chris Theophanous, recently went through a long period of illness with a rare type of throat cancer, sclerosing rhabdomyosacroma - he was one of the four people in the world to have this allegedly non-treatable cancer. The doctors treating him were both delighted and amazed at his recovery. Today he is fit and well, now in his second year at Oxford Brooks university!
Angelos wants to give back to the charities that helped him cope with being diagnosed with cancer through to recovery post multiple surgeries. He is grateful for all the support received from Teens Unite Fighting Cancer, a charity that is supported by the BBC Children in Need fund.
Angelos could not even ride a bike before, so his challenge was both to learn and then cycle from Oxford to London in one day! This is on 14 November!
