Story
On 15th September 2022, my little family lost our “baby number 2” at 10 weeks gestation. The loss of any pregnancy isn’t just that. It’s also a loss of a future with the child you’ll never get to meet, and of a little person who shared my body and our hearts. For me, it also changed how I experienced pregnancy afterwards. Instead of carefree excitement, there was a layer of anxiety and worry, and the thought of a safe arrival became “if” rather than “when.” But through that difficult time came our gorgeous daughter (born 16th September 2023 🌈), whose presence is a daily reminder of both the fragility and the beauty of new life.
The M.A is a small national charity whose mission is to ensure that everyone affected gets the care, support and information that’s right for them.
We are here to help people through, and with 1.5 million visits to our website, 33,000 participants joining our online peer support groups, 2 million people following us on our social media platforms, and almost 250,000 free leaflets ordered by NHS maternity and Early Pregnancy Units, we know that our services are needed more than ever.
This September, I am taking part in the Miscarriage Associations Bake A Difference to help those who need them, not only to signpost people to their services as a means of support but also to raise funds to help them to help people (like me) through and after the heartbreak of pregnancy loss.
