Story
I lost my first child Sam, when he was four weeks old. I cant write down now what happened, 18 years later, as I cant see through the tears that still come very easily.
What I can write though, is that when this happened, I subsequently found out I was not the the only person, mum, to have gone through losing a child. Lots of friends, family, people I knew well were telling me they had a miscarriage, or a still born, and I had no idea. People don't talk about it. It was heart-breaking. Yet, comforting in a way too. To be able to talk to people who understand.. who get it. Who feel it.
18 years on, I have a pub & a cafe, and a childcare business, so i have a platform.. a way of reaching people to support each other, and thats why this year im supporting SANDS. Were going to sell cakes, and each cake will provide a donation to SANDS, and hopefully people will just willingly donate.
