Women’s Aid ABCLN provides confidential support, information and emergency accommodation for women and children who are affected by domestic abuse. We believe that no-one should have to live in fear or threat from abuse.

One in four women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime and we know often the biggest victims of domestic abuse are the smallest.

On average PSNI respond to one incident every 17 minutes. For every incident, we know the impact on women and children living with domestic abuse can be devastating.

I have chosen to raise money for Women’s Aid because this project stems from my own experience of domestic violence and explores ideas of vulnerability and recovery. Much of the work reflects on altered psychological states, dissociation and the emotional impact of trauma. Supporting Women’s Aid allows the work to have a tangible social purpose alongside its conceptual concerns, giving back to the charity who supported me most in my time of need.
