World-leading specialists need world-leading support. RNOH Charity strengthens and supports the people, research and infrastructure that make RNOH one of the world's best orthopaedic hospitals.

Story

As many of you are aware I was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer, Leiomyosarcoma in April this year. During the diagnostic testing phase it was also discovered that another primary tumour, a carcinoma, had established itself in my breast.

Following successful treatment in Stanmore London and Jersey for the removal of both cancers in May I have now begun the process of prevention by embarking upon an aggressive chemotherapy pathway for the next few months.

Although it is expected over the next few weeks that I will lose my hair I have decided to take control with the aim of turning a very emotionally bleak situation into a positive one to raise funds for the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in Stanmore. Continued support and fundraising for world leading research is so desperately needed to support the incredible work of the ground breaking researchers and consultants who transform and save lives, mine included, in such a niche and specialized area of sarcoma cancer.

My family and I want to raise the profile of Sarcoma charities and the specialist hospitals such as the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital. To that end, the plan of my sponsored head shave is the start of our campaign with other events planned such as my daughter Katharine running the Rome Marathon in March 2024 for the national Sarcoma charity.

I understand that this  is a difficult time with the cost of living crisis but If you are able to support me on this journey by sponsoring me with any donation, via the link below, I would be so grateful. Alternatively if this isn’t an option at this time please just hold me and my family in your thoughts.

Thank you so much
