I'm taking steps for Addison's Awareness

Steps challenge raising money for Addisons Disease Awareness · 1 February 2026

To celebrate Rare Disease Day 2026, we’re inviting you to take part in a special fundraising challenge to raise awareness for Addison’s disease and adrenal insufficiency: the ‘Steps for Addison’s Awareness’ Challenge!

Story

I am proud to be taking steps to raise awareness and funds in aid of the Addison's Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG).

Living with Adrenal Insufficiency is turbulent and unpredictable. Some days I can’t walk at all, never mind do a steps challenge! For people with AI, if we try to ‘push ourselves’ it can quickly can lead to a medical emergency.

However, I will not be deterred in my goal of spreading further awareness of this horrible disease.

Fundraising is vital for charities to continue to support patients, help them advocate and most importantly educate patients and medical professionals.

At the ADSHG, everything they do is driven by a bold vision:

"A world where Addison’s disease and adrenal insufficiency are recognised early and managed effectively so that anyone affected can live confidently and thrive."

With your support, they’re working to make this vision a reality. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference to this small but impactful charity!
