Sarah's fundraiser for Friends of Oaklands

Sarah Connolly is raising money for Friends of Oaklands

3 Events throughout the year - Marathon, 50k ultra and then 50 mile ultra · 27 September 2025

Oaklands School in Edinburgh supports children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and often life limiting conditions. The Friends of Oaklands charity is a group of staff and parent/carers who raise funds to provide resources and social opportunities for the pupils.

Story

This year, I am embracing new challenges that will push my limits and hopefully inspire others. I will be participating in three endurance events throughout the year: a marathon, a 50k ultra, and the ultimate test of my endurance—a 50-mile ultra run from Stirling to Perth over the breathtaking Ochils.

Every day, I am inspired by the pupils at Oaklands, the school where I teach. The young people's strength and resilience shine through as they navigate life's challenges with joy and determination. It is their spirit that motivates me to give back in a meaningful way. As I run those 50 miles, each pupil will be in my thoughts, reminding me that every mile is for them.

If you can, please support me in this journey by donating a few pennies to 'Friends of Oaklands.' Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these remarkable young individuals. My target is to raise £500 and your generosity can help add a little bit extra to their lives.
