JMECA is a UK Charity which seeks to show God’s love by supporting the charitable work of the Episcopal Provinces in the Middle East; the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East, and the Province of Alexandria. We provide financial support for the churches, clergy and the social ministries the dioceses run for the local communities. Through our website and magazine we aim to inform people of the context of their work and encourage prayerful support.

Story

I'm running (read: gently jogging) the Battersea Park Half Marathon on 9th March, in my clerical collar,* to raise money for the the Al Ahli Hospital Emergency Appeal.

[* - and other clothes! If donations reach more than £500, I'll run in my clerical collar, a surplice and a preaching scarf.]

The Al Ahli Hospital serves everyone in the increasingly desperate situation in Gaza. The hospital, which is owned and supported by the Episcopal (Anglican) Diocese of Jerusalem, continues to try to serve the local people despite having suffered two significant attacks in the current war.

Restrictions on movement and imports mean that the Al Ahli Hospital is often without basic medicines, and there are severely limited supplies of electricity, food, water, fuel, and far too few medical personnel.

The suffering in Gaza is appalling. Please do give generously if you can.

NB: The cat isn't taking part in the half marathon. He's just cute.
