For twenty‑five years, Sarah Cross welcomed our youngest children into Weeke Primary School with warmth, kindness and a gentle belief in every child she taught. She had a remarkable ability to make each child feel safe, valued and excited about the start of their learning journey. For so many families in our community, Sarah was the person who made those first days of school memorable, magical and full of joy.

Her sudden passing has been an enormous loss to all of us. Sarah was not only a dedicated teacher, but a treasured colleague and a friend whose compassion, humour and generosity touched every corner of our school.

As a community, we would like to honour Sarah’s legacy in a meaningful way. We are creating a fundraising pot to support a number of causes that were close to her heart. These will include:

A lasting contribution to Weeke Primary School, in recognition of Sarah’s extraordinary commitment to our children.

Something special for current and future EYFS children, reflecting Sarah’s passion for giving little learners the very best start in life.

A charity donation, chosen to reflect values Sarah held dear.

Another worthy cause, finalised in consultation with our colleagues.

Together, we hope to create a legacy that continues the love, care and inspiration Sarah shared so freely with generations of children.
