Story
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and on Sunday the 25th of October, I’ll be taking on a fundraising hike in the Wicklow Mountains to raise money for ARC Cancer Support Centres.
Last October, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. It's been a tough year of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, surgeries and multiple hospital admissions while learning to take life one step at a time. While I'm incredibly grateful to now be in remission, my treatment is still ongoing.
Throughout this journey, I've experienced first hand how important support is, not just medically, but emotionally and practically too. ARC Cancer Support Centres provide free services to people affected by cancer and their families, helping them navigate some of life's most difficult moments. ARC offers a wide range of support services, including counselling, peer support groups, acupuncture, reflexology, talks, workshops, and drop-in and telephone support, to name just a few. They’ve been a pillar of support for me throughout my treatment.
If you're able to, I'd be grateful for your support. Whether it's making a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or joining me on the hike, every contribution will make a difference. X
P.S ladies please check your breasts once a month, it could save your life 🤍
