Sarah Docchar is raising money for Brathay Trust

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Running a marathon is an enormous personal achievement. Our London Marathon charity runners not only complete one of the most famous races in the world, but also raise vital funds to support some of the UK's most vulnerable children and young people.

Story

Firstly it’s been a dream of mine to run the London marathon - I have watched it on TV for years and thought I would love to do. After trying the ballot for a number of years and failing I saw that the Brathay Trust were looking for fundraisers therefore I applied for a charity place and luckily enough I was chosen. One of the main reasons I picked the Brathay Trust is because I am originally from the Cumbria (Kendal) and I know people who have benefited from the support they provide.

Since 1946 Brathay has been inspiring young people to build their own brighter futures. The charity work with young people from across the UK, from primary school age through to their early careers.

Charitable work is underpinned by enterprising fundraising and our supporters’ commitment. We know that, enthused by the belief in the transformational power of people working together, you can help us make a positive difference. Work with us to transform the lives of young people.

There are so many ways to help and discover the Brathay effect that is at the heart of everything we do.
