Story
I’m running the Great North Run on 13th September in memory of my brother, Ian.
Ian was taken from our world far too soon, and this run is my way of honouring him, celebrating the person he was, and keeping his name going.
Ian ran for charities and took on epic challenges. He loved running. It gave him space, motivation, and a deep connection with himself and his daughters. It was his time to be with them and find peace.
He was a true role model and encouraged his eldest with her passion for running. He would always incorporate getting outdoors and exercising with his girls — from running and cycling to paddle boarding and more.
Not long ago he was encouraging me to do a half marathon. He told me I could train for one and that he wouldn’t let me give up. He had a special way of making you believe in yourself, and was a true inspiration to his girls, friends and family around him.
I looked up to him and was so proud of all he had achieved and conquered. I loved him with all my heart.
Every mile of the 13.1 will be for him, and I’m doing this in his memory in a way I hope would make him proud.
If you’re able to donate, big or small, it would mean the world. Thank you so much for supporting me and being part of this with me x
