Story
In April 2025, I was visiting London with my sister without realising we were there for the weekend of the marathon. After getting caught up in the vibrant and supportive crowds, I decided to take a long shot and apply to run for the 2026 marathon on behalf of Amnesty International, an organisation that I highly respect and whose work vital for our collective humanity. Much to my delight (which was quickly followed by trepidation at the daunting task of training for and running a full marathon), I was selected to be part of the team of runners who will take part in the 2026 marathon and fundraise for Amnesty International UK.
For those who are not familiar with their work, Amnesty International is a movement of ordinary people from across the world standing up for humanity and human rights. As we have seen more than ever in recent months and years, when injustice happens to one person, it happens to us all. Amnesty stands against these injustices through campaigns centered on refugee and migrant rights, climate change, children's rights, women's rights, LGBTI rights, and many others.
Any support you can provide for their invaluable work will not just be appreciated but also form part of a larger effort to make a real, tangible difference.
Thank you in advance and much love <3
Sarah
