O' what's occurring?

On 12 October, my daughter Lucinda (Lucy) Coyle and I are taking part in a Victory over Cancer Gavin & Stacey 6k walk around Barry Island. As huge Gavin & Stacey fans, we are excited to visit some of the famous filming spots from the show and know that it's going to be a 'tidy' day!

Not far from our minds will be the incredible care that my Mother and Lucy's Grandmother (ironically called Pamela!) received from Velindre Cancer Hospital during treatment prior to her death aged 70 from Inflammatory Cancer.

Our fundraising will help to continue to fund a relatives' room on-site at Velindre. The relatives’ room is an essential space for families to stay with their relatives who are being cared for at the centre. With a small kitchen and sofa bed, the room gives families somewhere quiet and comfortable to rest while still being near their loved ones.

Filled with toys, video games and comfy seats, the room gives families the chance to step away from busy clinical environments and spend quality time together in a space that feels friendly, comfortable and calm. Without support, these spaces wouldn't exist at Velindre.

Any support you could spare would be 'cracking'.
