This May a team of colleagues from Bournemouth & Poole College will be taking part in the Jurassic Coast Challenge.

The team will be taking on the spectacular World Heritage coastline for the half challenge course (58km) with ups and downs giving 1,700m of climb.

Starting at Corfe Castle, the route heads down to Swanage, and along through Lulworth Cove, past Durdle Door, with ups and downs to the finish line at Weymouth.

As a team we’ll be raising funds for Dorset Mind to help people in Dorset experiencing mental health problems to access the vital support they need. The charity is at the very heart of our communities shaping futures, changing and in some cases literally saving lives.

Dorset Mind is a local charity who has supported Dorset’s mental health for over 75 years. They connect and change minds, bringing people together to make genuine change within their communities.

The charity supports both adults and children by delivering life-changing services, including active monitoring and triage in Doctor’s surgeries, counselling, wellbeing groups, and mentoring.

This year marks a deeply significant milestone—my sister’s 50th birthday and the 10th anniversary of her passing. To honour her memory, I am taking on a 58K ultra challenge, a test of both physical endurance and mental resilience.

Through this challenge, I celebrate the gratitude I hold for the years we shared and the continued strength she gives me in spirit. I am raising funds for Dorset Mind, a charity dedicated to supporting mental health—because a strong and healthy mind is the foundation for overcoming life’s toughest challenges.
