LATNEM are a Scottish Charity run by mothers with lived experience of mental ill health. We promote and protect the mental health of mothers and birthing people in Scotland by providing a free, comprehensive peer support service.

Story

Lots of you will know that I am struggling with mental illness (postpartum depression and anxiety) It's scarily common, with 1 in 5 people developing a mental illness in the ante/postnatal period.

I was lucky enough to have a prompt reaction from my support network and accessed services and medication quickly, which without being overly dramatic, may have saved my life.

LATNEM is one of the services I was referred to - they provide a comprehensive mental health peer support service in Grampian, which is vital for so many people. As a small charity, a donation can make a huge difference! I can't imagine having to go through an ante/postnatal mental illness alone!

So I'm now aiming to complete the Loch Kinnord 10km in October, something which seemed impossibly difficult a few months ago.

We've come a long way in talking about mental illness, but there's still a long way to go! If anyone reading this is struggling for whatever reason, I'm always here for a chinwag or a cuppa.
