Paddleboarding for Wave Project · 1 September 2024

Grab your board and go the distance for The Wave Project this September. Every pound raised will help us reach our target of the UK coastline - 18,000km! Together, we can continue changing the lives of as many children and young people as possible

Story

This September I am joining The Wave Project with their 'Get on Board' challenge! The Wave Project helps to improve the mental health and well-being of young people across the UK, through the power of surf therapy.

As you know I love paddleboarding & totally relate to how being on/in

the water is good for your mental health, so this event appealed to me. Every pound raised will help reach the charity’s target of paddling the UK coastline - 18,000km! My aim is to get out on the board as often as possible during September & add to the total. It could also be viewed as my birthday fundraiser!

According to the NHS, one in six young people are experiencing a diagnosable mental health issue. The Wave Project is on a mission to change that. Originating in Cornwall they now operate all over the UK including 2 locations in Scotland.

The approach is to intervene early, treat young people with respect and focus on a learning activity that they can relate to – surfing.

Every pound raised will allow them to continue supporting as many children and young people as possible.

Thank you so much for your support!
