Story
The Hewson family are putting our hiking boots back on to join OSCAR's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity team walking the Ullswater Way in The Lake District.
This year the littlest Hewson - Freya, aged 8 - is making her charity walk debut and will be attempting to cover 13 miles - a half marathon. No mean feat for her first ever challenge!
Ollie, 10 and Jack, 12 are determined to go the full distance so will be walking 26 miles, with Mum attempting to keep up.
All money raised will support children with brain tumours and their families, raise awareness of signs and symptoms of this terrible disease, and fund research into better and kinder treatments.
We will be walking ten years to the weekend that Oscar Hughes died of a brain tumour aged just 9. Oscar’s family suffered yet more unimaginable tragedy when his Dad Ian and little brother Milo, 5, also died of brain tumours. The charity that bears his name has helped so many other children in the same situation and the team taking on the walk are doing so to help even more.
