Dean, 54, alongside his loving and devoted wife Christine live in Middlesbrough, they have two sons, two daughter-in-law’s and two grandsons, oh and two grand dogs!

Dean was diagnosed with MND (ALS) on the 18th of August 2023 after a year of symptoms. Obviously, this has been a huge shock and devasting for Dean, Christine, their family and all who know him. MND (or ALS as it is also known) is a condition that affects the brain and the nerves. It results in the progressive loss of motor neurons that control voluntary muscles and gets worse over time. It has no cure and can significantly shorten life expectancy and dramatically impact someone’s life, only 10% of those affected live beyond 5 years.

AAs always Dean and Christine are as concerned about others affected by this devastating disease as they are about themselves and have set up this foundation to not only raise funds for research into a cure for MND (ALS) and provide financial assistance to the local support groups that have helped them so much. In addition, Dean and Christine know how valuable their time together with their family and friends is and they also want to help other have the chance to do the same with their families and so some of the funds will be used for grants to help others who are less fortunate but in the same situation.
