Our charity BRCA+ Chat supports individuals impacted by BRCA (or other) gene mutations. These mutations make them a higher risk to genetic cancer. We raise awareness, and provide support for mutants (and their family and friends). We want people to be aware of their options and to know there is help out there, with our marvellous community :)

BRCA Chat is a tiny, but national U.K charity, which aims to help all humans navigating a BRCA (or other) gene mutation. Whether you are considering testing, have already been tested, have been diagnosed with cancer – or are a buddy wanting to support a friend (you champ, you), they are here for you.

Sarah found out that she has the BRCA1 gene when she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2021. Her whole family was tested and it was dominant. Sarah's father, daughter and 2 nieces all have the gene. Her sister would have also had it, but she passed away from Breast Cancer in 2010 when 42 without being tested.

It increases the risk of breast cancer in our lifetime from 13% to 70% and ovarian cancer from 3% to 53%.

Preventive surgeries and IVF to start families are some of the options available to you if you have the BRCA gene.

We are walking as a team. Sarah (who is walking whilst undergoing cancer treatment), Stefania, Laura, Clare, and Suzanne and others who have set up individual fundraising. Please help us reach an amazing target fora special charity
