Story
Hackney Night Shelter provides emergency bed spaces and support for people experiencing homelessness into settled accommodation. Last year they supported 218 people facing homelessness, with 90% of guests moving on positively to longer-term accommodation. With your help, I’m hoping to raise funds to continue their vital work all year round.
On Friday 10th October I’ll be sleeping out in the grounds of St John of Jerusalem Church in Victoria Park Village with other HNS volunteers and participants. The Sleep Out is in no way meant to replicate what it is like to sleep rough but instead to raise awareness about, and funds for their work.
As a local, independent charity, community fundraising events like the Sleep Out are crucial for them to stay open every night of the year and provide routes out of homelessness.
