Hospice of the Valleys is THE Blaenau Gwent Hospice, caring for over 500 people every year with a team of specialist palliative care professionals, dedicated to providing hospice care. Story

My training partner and best running buddy Daisy and myself entered this event taking place on the 9th September to get out into the mountains (our favourite running love and passion!) take in the scenery of our amazing local environment and basically run and gossip for however long it took us to get the job done! We have done many XC's and races for our beloved club Parc Bryn Bach plus Half Marathon trails but we really fancied the challenge of the big 26.2 over tough terrain before the potential of entering a 50 miler ahead of our "significant" birthdays later in 2024!

However, our plans have been put on hold due to the devasting news that Daisy will first have to overcome the challenge of fighting cancer which has recently been diagnosed. Daisy is incredibly fit, strong and the most beautifully positive person I have ever had the pleasure to run with, so we have decided that I will continue to run the event to raise funds for the Hospice of the Valleys, whilst she focuses on her own personal challenge and getting better.

This is also an opportunity to promote and celebrate the strength and character for every special person we know that is fighting a cancer diagnosis.

Every penny counts for this amazing local charity, who work tirelessly to provide support for our loved ones and their families and friends. Any amount of donation you can offer would be much appreciated.

Love and positive running vibes to you all!
