Story

I’ve signed up to join a team of St Peter's School parents, teachers and friends who are all running the Surrey Half Marathon on 8 September to raise funds for our school to keep our children active and healthy, and would love your support for this cause.

As those close to me know I don’t consider myself a runner. I dabbled a bit in my 20s but nothing more than 10k. How hard can it be I thought, naively 🤣

I began my training for this challenge 14 weeks ago and it has certainly not been easy fitting the training in around a busy life! I also wasn’t prepared for the impact it would have on my body which has forced me to adapt my training plan along the way.

Despite this I’ve enjoyed building up to the challenge and am excited to run the race in aid of our wonderful school. Any sponsorships big or small would be hugely appreciated by both me and the school.

Thank you in advance xx

About the charity

St Peter's C of E Primary School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) is] a UK-registered charity bringing together our fantastic school community here in Wrecclesham, Farnham. All our parents with children enrolled at St Peter's School are automatically members of this community. A team of active volunteers devote time and energy to run the PTFA to deliver fundraising initiatives for all the family to enjoy, for example: Fireworks night, School Disco, Break the rules day, Pilates classes, Your Lottery, Preloved Uniform, Cake sales. Thousands of pounds are raised each year and reinvested directly into your child's school experience. We have the ability to make a difference, we can enhance the teacher's, and children's, environment. For example, the PTFA funded the outdoor play area and recently bought interactive white boards and new laptops for classroom use. The PTFA coordinates closely with the School Council to review and approve funding requests from pupils and teachers. We actively encourage you as parents to dedicate some time or support during your child’s time at our school - and JustGiving is one of those ways. THANK YOU!
