Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
So my chosen charity for my skydive is going to be for Sarcoma. Personally this is something I haven’t heard about, however a friend of mine has sent me her story which has really touched my heart and I’m sure many of you who read this will agree. I’m hoping this will raise more awareness for others. Please read her story -
I’d like to recommend Sarcoma UK. They are a bigger charity but they are close to me and J. Sarcomas aren’t spoken about enough and can go undiagnosed for quite some time, it took J around 6 months to be diagnosed back in 2023. Sarcomas are a very rare type of cancer. The sarcoma J had only affects 72 people in the uk each year. It started as a small painful lump in his ankle which grew to be the size of a tennis ball which he unfortunately had to have a below knee amputation. His cancer has come back and he is currently going through chemo which is working and he will have another operation on his lung to remove the cancer.
Sarcomas need so much more publicity as GPs just don’t know enough about it.
I’m supporting Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support.
