Story

I'm running New York Marathon on my 50th birthday - 1st November - and I'm using the occasion to raise money for a cause that's important to me - dementia.

My mum has dementia and her father had it. So, it's personal for me. And there are a lot of other reasons why - which you can read here.

Running has been an important part of my life since I was young - since mum inspired me to run marathons when she herself ran the Edinburgh Marathon on her 40th birthday. Since then I have run 9 marathons and New York will be my 10th...

I'm not running for a PB, I'm running to enjoy it and to raise awareness and money for a cause which impacts so many women and families globally.

I am so grateful that I am able to run to raise awareness in this disease and to remind myself how important it is to stay as healthy and fit as possible...
