Welcome to Scope's inspiring team of runners for the 2026 London Marathon

Story

There are 16 million disabled people in the UK. That’s one in four of us. Life is harder when you’re disabled. You're twice as likely to be unemployed and the cost of living is higher by £1,095* each month. It’s wrong and unacceptable.

Scope’s mission is for disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else.

So, I'm fundraising for Scope to create a fairer society.

We want a future that’s fair to disabled people, always. Join me in making this happen.

All funds go directly towards supporting Scope’s vision of a world where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. We campaign relentlessly to create a fairer society, while providing practical and emotional advice and support to disabled people and their families when it’s needed most.

"This is a personal undertaking for me as my sister Elizabeth, who would have turned 41 this year, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy shortly before she passed away as a baby. As a family, we have always supported Scope as a charity which would have been able to provide support to her in her life.

It was with a heavy heart that I withdrew from the 2025 London Marathon due to injury. I am delighted to be able to take my place on #TeamScope for the 2026 event and look forward to being a part of this fantastic team again. Thank you to everyone who supported me last year - all of the money I raised contributes to my total this year too. It is all truly appreciated and every penny will help Scope work towards their vision of a fair and equal society for disabled people.

My mum and dad ran the marathon in Elizabeth's memory in 1992 and I am delighted to be following in their footsteps 34 years later!"
