Sarah's fundraiser for IPSEA (Independent Provider of Special Education Advice)

Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024 · 13 October 2024 ·
This Autumn, I will be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon and raising funds for a vital cause. Thank you in advance for supporting my challenge and donating whatever you can, it will make a massive difference.
My daughter has had an EHCP since she was 4 years old. The EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) process and the forms are confusing and complicated. Ensuring your SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) child receives the right education can be a very unfair and costly process.
IPSEA was there when I needed legal advice and support. When my twins were diagnosed with Autism at 3, I was given very little useful information and they were discharged from the system. I wish back then that I was told about charities like IPSEA to help equip and empower me for all that lay ahead.
IPSEA offers free and independent legally based information, advice and support services to help get the right education for children and young people with all kinds of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The struggle facing thousands of families of children and young people with SEND can take years to resolve and often has a devastating effect on children and their families. The advice and support IPSEA provides is now more needed than ever.
I have never run more than 10km before taking on this challenge. Going to get the music pumping and push through, Royal Parks 1/2 here I come!
