Story
As many of you will know epilepsy has had a big impact on my family since 2017. My son Shaun collapsed at school when he was 15. He had been perfectly healthy up to that point. He was having seizures but they didn't know why. After being transferred from Swindon hospital to Oxford he was diagnosed with encephalitis which is a swelling of the brain. In Shaun's case it dramatically altered his personality but also left him with epilepsy. Luckily they successfully treated the encephalitis. He has no trigger for his seizures so he never knows when he is going to have one. Although he is on a cocktail of drugs he has a drug resistant strain. He has had the treatments that are suitable for him but more research is needed to try and find what else is out there.
I have organised a cake sale at Cirencester Leisure Centre on Thursday 26/3 between 10am and 1pm. Please come along if you are able to help raise as much money as possible. If you are not able to come but would still like to support please donate on my page.
Thank you so much.
