Raising money for Stroud Women's Refuge

Sarah Newey is raising money for Stroud Women's Refuge (Stroud Beresford)
We opened our first refuge in 1976, with the vision of achieving 'a life free from violence and abuse in the home for those affected by it'. We are located in Stroud, Gloucestershire, and offer two women's refuges with support for women and children as well as community based outreach services.

Story

At Finesse clinic I’m proud to support the Stroud Women’s Refuge, a charity dedicated to providing essential support and shelter to women affected by domestic abuse.

I believe in the power of the community and giving back therefore when I arrange an event, instead of a ticket price, I invite you to make a donation to a cause that is very close to my heart.

Did you know that 1 in 4 women are subjected to domestic abuse in their lifetime and not everyone is in the position to leave.

For 50 years SWR has been there to support women from all over the UK who have been forced to leave their homes due to domestic abuse. Originally established in 1977 as Stroud Beresford group, SWR is one of a handful of independent refuges in the UK and now the only refuge in Gloucestershire offering safe accommodation and support to women and children and enabling them to rebuild their lives.

If you’re wondering how your donations can help £25 could cover the cost of a welcome pack for a woman or a child or a baby and £30 could provide a new bedding pack.

Please give generously.
