On 8th September I will be taking part in the 2024 Great North Run to raise money for South Tyneside Young Carers. I am taking on this challenge in support of the many young carers at Harton Academy, as well as in the wider local community.

The South Tyneside Young Carers Service works with Young Carers aged 5-18. Their aim is for Young Carers to be resilient, confident, ambitious and independent. To be protected from inappropriate caring responsibilities and to enjoy a positive childhood. Funds raised will help them deliver respite groups and activities to give Young Carers and their families a break from their caring roles and spend time just being children and having fun with their friends.
