Story

This year, me and Jess, Helen’s daughter, are taking on the London Parks Half Marathon to raise money for the wonderful Liberty Jamboree, in memory of our much-loved mum and cousin, Helen.

Helen sadly lost her life to cancer last April. She was one of Shelby’s biggest supporters and always understood how much Liberty meant to us and to Shelby.

Liberty has played such an important part in Shelby’s growth, confidence and independence, through the activities, days out and experiences they provide. They give young people the opportunity to grow, gain independence and become the best versions of themselves, while also being a fantastic support to families.

Sport is also a really important part of what Liberty offers. As Liberty grows, so do their sports clubs, giving more young people the opportunity to get involved, build confidence and have fun. The money we raise will help towards sports equipment, kits and transport to keep these clubs growing.

Helen knew how much these experiences meant to Shelby and the difference they made. Taking part in this run is our way of remembering her while supporting something she cared about.

If you’re able to sponsor us, however big or small, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation will help Liberty continue the amazing work they do.

Thank you for supporting us and helping us keep Helen’s memory close.
