Story
I am over the moon that I am running the London Marathon for Fund Her Tri. This amazing charity supports women and non-binary people to get into triathlon. They help remove the barriers faced at entry level including fees, mentoring and programmes.
I am lucky enough to be doing my first Olympic distance triathlon sponsored by Fund her Tri in July 2024. So why not make it a double and run the London Marathon to help raise money for this amazing charity.
Sport has been a constant throughout my life. It keeps me grounded, the best stress buster (especially when working in healthcare) and it keeps my mental and physical health in check.
Having competed in CrossFit for the past three years, this community has got me through some very hard times and I have met some of my best friends through sport. I am so thankful for sport being a constant through the roller coaster that is life and I would love for more women to find their place in sport, whatever that looks like for them. I have always wanted try a Triathlon but have always put it off for inaccessibility. Fund her Tri have made it possible and I cannot wait to complete my first marathon and triathlon next year with them as well as a few Crossfit Competitions and 34km Trail Run!
Fund her Tri helps break down barriers and promotes that everyone is an athlete. You don't need to be competing at the Olympics to be an athlete. Sport brings the biggest joy, a sense of achievement, and creates life long bonds. I would appreciate any donation, no matter how small to help more women experience this and feel empowered. Let's raise as much as we can!
