Thank you for visiting my page. I've chosen to support Sarcoma UK by shaving my hair off when I reach my £2000 target. (Since starting this, my son William has joined in and has pledged to shave off his beard too.)

Sarcoma UK is a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.

In April 2020, my son Julian (then aged 29) was diagnosed with stage 4 plieomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. Julian's cancer was incurable but the consultant was hopeful that, with chemotherapy and possibly radiotherapy, we could buy him some time to fulfil some of his hopes and dreams. Sadly, the cancer and the treatment were so aggressive that my lovely son died in August 2020, ravaged by disease and the effects of the chemo. Towards the end, Julian's wish was that, through research, kinder but more effective treatments can found so that other people can have a better outcome. By supporting me, we can help make this happen . Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
