ESCAPE recognises the need for families to have opportunities to spend quality time doing fun things together – not just the child with the disability. Families often find themselves, through no fault of their own, excluded, mis-understood, and, sometimes, subject to prejudice, simply because of the additional needs of their child(ren). We aim to redress that balance by empowering and enabling families - allowing them the opportunity to visit locations, experience events, and participate in activities which might otherwise be unavailable to them. Our remit is to provide fun activities, allowing the children the opportunity to experience a positive childhood where they are integrated fully, and are able to share experiences that will enhance and enrich their lives, which other children and families often take for granted. These activities boost morale, increase confidence and self-esteem, improve social skills, decrease behavioural difficulties and develop and strengthen friendships.

Story

Hi! Thanks for seeing what I'm up to!

I've started ticking off boxes on my list of Things To Do Before I Die (hopefully not for a while yet though) since I've hit the big 5 0 and one of them is a skydive!

What better way to fundraise for the charity that put up with me at their helm than to be sponsored to do it at the same time?! As you are probably aware, ESCAPE provides support to families raising children with disabilities....and I think we're pretty darn good at it! Escape is one big family really...it's a great support network for families and a fun, rewarding place to work.

So...here it is...we - Martin - one of our mad ESCAPE members (he has his own just giving page too) and myself - are booked in to jump on April 28th 2024 (I'm a fair weather kind of girl!)....so plenty of time to donate....or chicken out! Ha!

I'd love to raise £1973, due to it being the year I was born....but let's see if I can get to £1000...that would be great... and see how it goes!

So, there it is! I'm doing it! How much are you willing to pay to see me scream, cry and probably wet myself!!? Ha! There will be video evidence to watch after the event!

Thank you to those who contribute to the madness!
