Story
We are taking on the 2026 Dopey Challenge at Walt Disney World to support a cause that’s deeply meaningful to us: raising money to fund childhood cancer research with the Scott Carter Foundation (SCF). We’ll be running a 48.6-mile journey over four days, including a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and full marathon. It’s no easy feat, but we are motivated by the mission we’re supporting—the fight against childhood cancer.
This is our second year running with SCF, an organization that holds a special place in our hearts. The foundation was created in memory of Scott Carter, a 13-year-old boy who, after a courageous three-year battle with bone cancer, passed away in December 1993. Scott’s belief was that if enough time, energy, and resources were dedicated to research, a cure could be found. His legacy lives on through SCF, which raises funds for children’s cancer research.
Every year, SCF partners with runDisney to unite hundreds of runners from around the globe, like us, to participate in runDisney events and raise money to further Scott’s dream of a cure. We’re honored to run in Scott’s memory, and with your support, we can make a difference in the fight against childhood cancer. Join us in reaching our fundraising goal and help make Scott’s dream of a cure a reality! Thank you for your generosity and support.
