Story
I’m taking part in the Alzheimer’s Society Trek26. Along with a great group of pals (the Warriors) we will walk 26 miles across the coastal and moorland paths of the North York Moors, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay.
Our friend Katie asked us to join her to raise money and awareness for a cause extremely close to her heart.
** Katie's Story **
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this.
Recently, my amazing dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and in that moment our world quietly changed forever. Alzheimer's doesn't just affect one person - it impacts entire families. It steals memories, confidence, independence, and little by little, parts of the person you love most.
My dad is more than a diagnosis. He's the man who has always been there for me, who taught me, supported me, and shaped the person 1 am today. He's full of kindness, strength, and love - and watching someone so strong face something so cruel is heartbreaking beyond words.

Alzheimer's is a disease that takes without asking. It takes memories, conversations, and moments we should be able to hold onto forever. While we don't know what the future holds, we do know that no family should have to face this alone - and that research, care, and support are desperately needed.
That's why I'm joining Katie and the ‘Worriors’ to take on a 26-mile walk.
Every mile we walk is for Katie’s dad. For close friends who’s families have been effected by Alzheimer’s.
