Story
Hello my name is Sarah and I am a coach for the Witham Town Belles U13s team.
I have organised a memorial football match in honour of Simon Gibbs the Head Teacher of New Rickstones Academy who suddenly passed away this year . Teaching isn’t a job you go into for the money it’s a vocation. Everyone I have spoken to have all said that he genuinely cared and that’s why he was thought of so highly.
Simon had a huge impact on many children’s life’s including my three girls. This is the reason I wanted to arrange something and show his family how much he meant to so many people with the community. He always went above and beyond often supporting parents and students in any capacity he could. He believed in doing the right thing even when no one was watching!
Losing a parent at anytime is hard and for his children this is no different. His family have chosen the Young Concern Trust for the money raised to be donated to.
So on September 29th at Witham Town Football Club there is a charity match kicking off at 3pm.
It is the Witham Town Belles Coaches v New Rickstones Academy Staff.
There will be a raffle, stalls, football and hopefully lots of memories !
Instead of an entrance fee we are asking that you donate at the gate either with cash or Via the QR code.
