Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving pages. After an 8 year absence, I am returning to my absolute favourite - The Great North Run. I am already looking forward to a momentous day in my 'hometown', but please don't think it's going to be easy. Training reminds me I am a lot older now and nowhere feels that more than my poor old knees.

To keep me going, I am using my ballot place to run for charity. In fact, TWO great charities: Breast Cancer Now & Prostate Cancer UK. You've landed on Breast Cancer Now. You might want to support this charity, the other one or both! Both charities do amazing work to combat hideous forms of cancer, so I hope my running raises similar amounts for both.

I've gone with JustGiving rather than crowdfunding so the charities can get the benefit of gift aid too. (That's why there are two pages.) As you know, donating through JustGiving is simple and secure - and the most efficient way to donate directly to the charities.

I've set a target of £1300 - that's £100 per mile to encourage me all the way from The Tyne to South Shields. Can you help me reach that target, please? It will send me on my way with a spring in my step and a big smile on my face on Sunday 7th Sept. I know there are many lovely people doing lots of amazing things for charity. Money might be tight for you right now. Anything you can give is appreciated, and if money isn't an option, it’s lovely to have your support in other ways.
