Ironman Austria 2023 · 18 June 2023

The Rwenzori Trust was set up in 1992 to promote education and training in Uganda, focusing on the Rwenzori mountain area. This aim is currently being met through a “child sponsorship project”: subsidising school fees for secondary and tertiary education for young people in the Rwenzori area.

Story

Uganda was hit hard by Covid lockdowns, and now flash flooding caused by climate change is leading to greater food insecurity. Please help provide a route out of subsistence farming for children in the Ruboni area by supporting the child sponsorship project of the Rwenzori Trust. This project pays secondary school fees for 43 children each year and it’s making a huge difference. With tiny overheads, every penny donated makes a difference and goes a long way.

Talking of a long way… I’m taking on my biggest challenge yet. A full Ironman in the hills of the Austrian Tirol. 3.8km swim, 180km cycling in the mountains and then a marathon run.

Thanks for reading. Please donate what you can. It means the world to me.
