In January 2024 I will reach my half century! Lots of people celebrate this milestone with an exotic holiday or a cruise. But not me! Instead, on Sunday 21st April, I will fulfil an ambition and take on my biggest challenge to date (and probably ever) and run The London Marathon. I have decided to do it in my 50th year as I figured it’s now or never!

As I will be taking on such a memorable challenge I wanted to use this opportunity to raise funds for a charity very close to my heart. Marie Curie were amazing supporting my Dad when he was coming to the end of his life and were a huge support to my Mum during that very difficult time and also continued their support after my Dad died. There isn’t anyone who hasn’t been affected by cancer in some way and charities like Marie Curie deserve as much support as they can get.

I know times are financially difficult for lots of people and families right now so please know that any money donated, whatever the amount will be hugely appreciated by me and Marie Curie.

On 21st April 2024, our incredible #TeamMarieCurie runners will be taking to the streets of London and running 26.2 miles in aid of Marie Curie. All the money that is raised helps Marie Curie Nurses provide vital care and support to people with terminal illness, and their families at the toughest time.

£23 pays for one hour of vital nursing care at home for someone living with a terminal illness.

£26 pays for an hour of bereavement support by phone or Webchat.

£207 pays for a whole night of care from a Marie Curie Nurse.
