On Sunday 19th November 2023 I will be running the Conwy Half Marathon to raise money for two charities - Read Easy Stockport and Werneth Concert Band. This will be the first time I have ever run a Half Marathon and I'm pretty nervous about it (especially since it has a big hill, so I'm told)!

I play 1st clarinet in the Werneth Concert Band and every year we choose a charity to raise money for. This year we are raising for Read Easy Stockport, so 50% of money raised will go there and 50% will go to Werneth Concert Band.

About Read Easy Stockport:

There are more than 11,000 adults in Stockport who either cannot read at all or can barely read. For them, everyday tasks such as booking a doctors appointment, reading road signs or doing the food shopping can be incredibly challenging. This charity is run by volunteers who work with members of the adult community to support them to learn to read.

About Werneth Concert Band:

Werneth Concert Band is an active community band based in Romiley, a village just outside Stockport. With around 60 playing members, the Band performs regular concerts. Playing music in an ensemble is a great way to share enjoyment of music with others, also good exercise for the brain, and of course provides enjoyment for the audiences who attend our concerts. The band was founded in 1983 and I joined in 2000. Don't miss our Christmas concert on Saturday December 16th!
