Facing Fire for Animals in Need!

Sarah Wilson is raising money for RSPCA Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Branch

RSPCA Chesterfield Firewalk · 1 November 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

We are a self-funding branch of the RSPCA responsible for raising money locally to support our animal welfare work. Our main aim is to take in unwanted, abandoned and neglected animals and find them loving, permanent homes. We rely heavily on public donations and support for our work to continue.

Story

On 1st November 2025, I will be participating in the RSPCA Chesterfield Firewalk, an extraordinary event that challenges me to walk barefoot across a bed of burning coals, reaching temperatures as high as 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Why would anyone take on such a daunting task?

The answer lies in the heart of our community—the RSPCA Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Branch. This self-funding branch plays a vital role in rescuing and rehabilitating hundreds of animals each year, providing them with the love and care they so desperately need.

This year has seen an alarming rise in the demand for their services, as more animals fall victim to cruelty and neglect. The dedicated team at the branch works tirelessly to ensure these animals find their loving, forever homes. However, they rely entirely on local fundraising efforts to sustain their animal rehoming centre in Chesterfield, which has the capacity to care for up to one hundred rescued animals at any given time.

I am asking for your support in this noble cause. My goal is to raise £1,000 to help ensure that these innocent creatures receive the care they deserve. Together, we can make a difference and provide hope for those who cannot speak for themselves. Please consider donating today and join me in this inspiring journey towards compassion and change.
