Fundraising to create a Bright Space in Sarah's memory
In memory of Sarah Burge
In 2024, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children will open its 100th Bright Space in the UK! Our year-long 100 themed fundraising campaign, 100 Your Way, aims to fundraise £100,000 to support our Bright Spaces for vulnerable children.

Story

We are fundraising to create a Bright Space in memory of our dear colleague and friend Sarah Burge, Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons North Cheam Nursery. Sarah was with Bright Horizons for 15 years, and is missed and remembered fondly by all who knew her.

The Bright Space we are fundraising for will be located in a police station in London, where children and young people are interviewed about abuse they have experienced. The Bright Space will be welcoming and inviting, to put children at ease, to help them give the best evidence possible, to secure the conviction of the perpetrators.

Different fundraisers will be taking place throughout the year.

A skydive is taking place in the spring which will see members of Sarah's team take to the skies to fundraise for the Bright Space. Skydivers are Olivia, Abi, Rachel, Paige, Zaharah, Caitlin from Bright Horizons North Cheam, and Sarah's son George.

Thank you so much for helping us to make a difference in Sarah's name in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

About the charity

We create Bright Spaces; enriching play environments for children experiencing crisis and disadvantage. Our Bright Spaces are in domestic refuges, homeless shelters, child protection interview suites, hopitals and prisons. They enable children to have fun, learn and heal from trauma through play.
